MLA Mary Polak, Langley
Friday, January 26, 2018
Lord, today we pray for Mary Polak, as you have called her to continue to serve as MLA for the riding of Langley. You have blessed her with very extensive experience and responsibility in various ministries and capacities over the years that she has served in the BC legislature. Grant her insight and discernment as she considers the best way to serve not only the constituents of her Langley riding, but also as a conscientious member of the opposition in our provincial legislature in this coming year. Bless Mary with health, energy and wisdom in 2018.
Mary Polak was re-elected as MLA for Langley in 2017, having represented the constituents of Langley since 2005. The Legislature appointed Mary to sit on both the Select Standing Committee on Education and the Special Committee to Appoint an Information and Privacy Commission and she is the Official Opposition’s Education critic. Mary has acted as vice-chair of the Environment and Land Use Committee and as a member of both the Cabinet Working Group on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and the Priorities and Planning Committee. Previously, she served as Minister of Health, Minister of Environment, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation, Minister of Children and Family Development and Responsible for Child Care, Minister of Healthy Living and Sport, and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Health. Before being elected to the Legislature, Mary served as a trustee and chair of the Surrey school board.
