MLA: Kathy Corrigan – Burnaby-Deer Lake

Father today we lift up Kathy Corrigan to You with thanksgiving. Thank You that she has been willing to serve her riding of Burnaby – Deer Lake. May she have creative strategies to benefit her community and this province. Keep her well and strong this year as she travels and rests. Thank you Lord for hearing us. Amen.
Kathy Corrigan was first elected MLA for Burnaby-Deer Lake in 2009 and re-elected in May 2013.
She serves as Opposition Spokesperson for Advanced Education.
A strong advocate for public education, Kathy served three terms on the Burnaby Board of Education (1999-2008) and was board chair in 2007 and 2008. She has served on numerous district committees and was also a member of the B.C. School Trustees’ Provincial Council.
Kathy is a lawyer and public policy researcher by profession. She has also edited a legal journal and has written about privatization and trade agreements.
As a longtime community volunteer, Kathy has served on parent advisory committees, the Burnaby Minor Hockey Association, the Burnaby and New Westminster Ringette Association, the Lakeside Advisory Board and other organizations.
She and husband Derek Corrigan have lived in Burnaby since 1977. They have four grown children.
